I Developed A Blanching Of The Skin Right Above My Right Outer Wrist Bone

Question: About 2 months ago I developed a blanching of the skin right above my right outer wrist bone. I do have extensive gardening and had about six months ago developed very painful carpal tunnel on same side. I wore a brace and took anti inflammatory. The blanching has grown about 1cm there has been what appears to be subdermal tissue atrophy or loss, as the area is less plump than surrounding skin. There is periodic vessel leaking which is obvious due to red spots or patches with NO BLISTERING NO SCALING AND NO topical lesions. I have Hashimoto and am on hormone replacement therapy for menopause. I take vitamins and armour thyroid at 250mg. ( yes I am extreme hypothyroid. My grandfather had Vitilago, but NO SUBDERMAL bleeding. Went to Dermatologist and PA placed me on oral cortisone, then Tacrolimus ointment .1% and Betamethasone .05% I haven’t begun the oral ( I’m not sure that it’s inflammation, nor does it look like any dermattis.

Hi,

I read the detailed history you gave and saw the photo . After that, I could conclude that most probably you have ecchymoses developed after friction trauma during gardening. There is no need to worry. The condition may may vanish within few weeks gradually. There is a rupture of capillaries in dermis resulting an extravasation of blood in dermis leading to a red colour. Gradually the the clotted blood may disappear. To enhance the recovery, you may apply thrombophob ointment. Take Tab vitamin C and vitamin K for long time to improve the condition and to prevent the relapse. There is no relation with the diseases you have ...ok
