Question: I developed symptoms last Monday. I did monoclonal antibodies because I’m high risk. I did those yesterday. My symptoms have been almost identical to the flu. I didn’t have a high fever (running around 100) until last night. I now have a rattle in my chest and my cough feels a little worse today. I don’t have a fever right now (with no medicine). I’m worried I’m developing pneumonia and need to get help. Are these symptoms to be expected. My O2 on home pulse ox is 98-99. I have health anxiety so I over analyze symptoms. I’m just worried about chest rattle. Until now it’s just been a tickle in my throat.

Detailed Answer:
Hii. Welcome to the Ask A Doctor service.

It's a Covid pandemic time. And there is change of weather on season also. Its very usual someone may get anxiety regarding health in this crucial time. You check your saturation every 6 hourly. Do a chest x ray and upload the film.

If you are any breathing difficulty then start on Seroflo inhaler 2 puff twice daily. Start montelukast levocetrizine tablet at bedtime for 1 week. Take steam inhalation and warm saline gargle. Do a routine blood test. It should settle by a week. If you are having continuous fever then start tablet Azithromycin 500 mg once daily for 5 days and tablet solvin twice daily for 5 days. Azithromycin is an antibiotic and may require prescription by your doctor.

Do a chest x ray and review.
