Question: I am a 26 yrs woman. Last year in august i discovered small non itchy red dots and patches on my feet and legs. I referred a dermatologist she told that its vasculitis and given steroid tablets. It continued for a couple of months but finally was cured. This year again the symptoms reoccured and i referred it to a skin specialist. He prescribed blood tests including PANCA and CANCA. However both the tests are negative. He said clinically the symptons are for vasculitis only. Hence he also prescribed steroids tablets.
I want to know how this can be permanently cured.

Brief Answer:
vasculitis is treatable, not curable.

Detailed Answer:
Hello ,

* The vasculitis is an immune disorder which is treatable, but unfortunately not curable.

* Steroid medications will give primary relief to symptoms by modifying the immune
response, but it is not permanent cure.

* There are specific molecules available as azathioprime and others to prevent recurrent
episodes.
Biologic treatments are available as Rituximab or Tocilizumab depending upon the
type of vasculitis ;
The scope of above in particular case has to be discussed in details with the treating
dermatologist only.

* In general, following measures can be followed routinely to remain more fit as

- Exercise regularly.
- Get routine vaccinations on time.
- Consume healthy diet.
- Follow your treatment plans regularly and be in regular touch with your consultant.

Hope this information will help you to understand the issue.
Welcome for further discussion.

Wish you fine health.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
follow up .

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome for the follow up.

* Many of the conditions remain for life time, when there is no cure for the same, one of
which is vasculitis ; but avoiding the triggering factors are best solution.

* As such there is no need to panic for that, as there are no as such serious outcomes
from the condition.

Let`s hope for the best with Dr. S.N. Amin consultation and further guidelines regarding the same.

Regards.
