Question : I experience a certain belly pain off and on and am having trouble figuring out what it is linked to. It occurs in my lower gut - below the belly button area - and is more of a sudden and building wave of stabbing pain that goes through. This pain will happen maybe two or three times in a row and then stop for a bit and then happen again. Eating and drinking does not seem to affect it. Sometimes I will have a little diarrhea, but usually I don't. I am not at all nauseous either.

Possible food intolerance or even irritable bowel syndrome.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I think the pain you are experiencing may be related to intestinal function, probably food intolerance or irritable bowel syndrome.
Doing an abdominal ultrasound to eliminate the other possible organic conditions can help.
Also doing a total blood count is advisable to check for inflammation.

You can think if certain foods that may trigger it and eliminate them from your diet.
Having foods not rich in fibers can help.

How much of the simethicone can I take? Is there a daily medicine that I could take to possibly avoid this?
