Question : Is it possible to shrink a stretched bladder? My bladder was very stretched due to retaining urine. I have been on a catheter to drain the urine. When I did a void test, I felt the urge to urinate but nothing came out. I have BPH and doctors feel that the cause of the retainage. I am scheduled for Aquablation which is a procedure that shrinks the prostate, and doctors feel that will make a big difference, but I fear if my bladder is not working properly , I still may not be able to urinate. Can the bladder shrink?

Thanks for your query
I Have gone through our previous discussion on your issue.

Looking in to you having BPH since long time your bladder has become non compliant and will take long time more than 6 months to regain power to contract and to expel urine naturally. Till then you will need to get catheterised so that bladder will get complete rest and recover .
