I Feel Like I Have Started Repeating My Health History

Question: I feel like I have started repeating my health history from 2016. I have been to the doctor for headaches in the before years ago, but they always seemed to be more of the tension variety. Recently I’ve started getting headaches that feel like they are only in my right temporal muscle - above and behind my ear. The ache is a pulsing sensation that comes and goes throughout the day. I also had an issue last summer where my right jaw was bothering me and I started wearing a mouth guard to sleep, which I feel made it worse. The pain in my head is on that side and sometimes seems to be aggravated when I clench my jaw. It was happening more often, but I started having anxiety issues about other things and the headaches kind of stopped. Now they are back again and I am extremely worried. I have a scheduled visit with my pcp coming up, but am starting to worry that this is a brain tumor or some other sinister disease. I keep reading about headaches being very common. Does this sound like it could be serious?

Brief Answer:
Most probably not related to tumors.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I don't find this headache to be much related to any brain tumors since you don't have other symptoms related to brain issues.
I think you may need to visit a dentist or an maxillofacial surgeon to check your Temporomandibular joint and your teeth alignment. Any issues with TMJ dysfunction may cause headache.
In most of the cases there isn't a specific reason for headache. You can also visit s neurologist for an EEG or other examinations about it. Anxiety can also contribute to it.
Ibuprofen can help but you also can use Diclofenac or ketoprofene .

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
