I Feel Nausea Going On For Weeks And It Feels

Gastritis is likely- helpful measures and treatment discussed below
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service,
I carefully read your query and understand your concern.
Very likely your symptoms are due to gastritis, which is inflammation of the inner layer of the stomach. In some cases, a peptic ulcer may be the cause.
In both cases, Omeprazole 40 mg 30 minutes before breakfast is very helpful.
You may also choose to eat frequent small amounts of food (4-5 small meals instead of 2-3 big ones). This will help with nausea and also will prevent further damage of the stomach.
Try to avoid food that may make you worse, and especially fast food, greasy food, spicy food, etc.
Coffee, smoking, and alcohol may worsen nausea so if you use these it is advisable to quit (coffee, you may have 1-2 a day but after food and it still affects you you will need to stop it).
Normally, you should feel better within a few days of starting this treatment. If no improvement with the above treatment in a few days or you notice any worsening, you will need to have a check again and possibly an endoscopic examination and an ultrasound.
In some cases, H. Polyri may be present in the stomach and causes peptic ulcers that may be resistant to Omeprazole. Antibiotics are needed in this case, together with Omeprazole. To know for sure if you have H. Pylori or not, urea breath test may be ordered.
I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards,
Antoneta Zotaj,
