Question : I get involve in noisy activities and recenly I had tinnitus. My problem is that are ear plugs from local stores hurt my sensitivity ear canal causing numbness in the jaw muscles and ear pain and neck pain. I even tried to purchase custom made ones which did not work either. External ear defenders are too stiff and cause problems like headaches. Do you this is there any option for me?

Hii. I am really sorry for tinnitus. Get your checked by an Ent surgeon. Do a audiogram. If you are having hearing loss due to nerve weakness then please go for a hearing aid. Nowadays many hearing aid has come with tinnitus maskers. You can choose your sound to mask the tinnitus. Relax and lead a stress free life. Avoid absolute noise free environment. You can use within the canal ear plugs which creates less irritation to the ear. But the best is hearing aid with tinnitus maskers.
