Question : I get muscle clamps in ankle or lower leg in the morning or at night before I get up. Feels like the joint is locked someway. Only solution is get up and stand on it. Ankle locks at a weird angle. Last night it felt like the left side of my leg below the knee was clamped or the muscle tight/shortened.
Brief Answer:
A number of causes
Detailed Answer:
Dear sir,
I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns...
This could be due to a number of causes including dehydration, mineral deficiencies, and vascular insufficiency. That is why I would recommend that keep yourself adequately hydrated with at least eight cups of water daily.
I would also recommend that you get a blood test for levels of sodium, potassium and calcium levels along with a duplex ultrasound on your legs to asses the vascular supply.
I hope you find this helpful.
