Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your query and here is my advice.
As per your history, there may be chance for false positive results i e positive results in spite of not taking alcohol.
Recent use of hand sanitizers, mouthwash, cosmetic products containing ethyl alcohol may cause false positive results. So kindly avoid use of these products containing ethyl alcohol.
Usually urine ethyl glucuronide (ETG) test used for alcohol detection which may gives false positive results due to presence of sugar and bacteria in the urine.
Please let me know,
Do you have fever, burning while urination, increased urination frequency?
So for further assessment I would suggest you to consult with physician for detailed clinical examination.
He may procure complete hemogram, urine analysis, blood sugar levels as per evaluation to rule out any other possibilities for urinary tract infection /raised blood sugar level.
Along with that I think positive ETG test should be confirmed by ethyl sulfate(ETS) test and ETG/ETS ratio.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
