Question : I got a X-ray done on my leg and it came back that there is no broken bones but I still can’t extend my leg.. can a X-ray determine if I have a meniscus tear because it feel like it or would I need an MRI

I read your query and here is my advice.
I think you should do better an MRI then x-ray to check meniscus tear or other issues of the knee.
A x-ray doesn't give enough information about soft tissues around knee.
You have done a x-ray and the bones are ok.
