Question : I got blood work. My ast was 615 and my alt was 135. My anti hbsag was 313. I’m not a heavy drinker, I workout hated and got both hep a & b vaccinations in 2011 & 2015. Why are my numbers so high? I’m worried.

Brief Answer:
Probably a result of immunization

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mattnell,

The relatively high anti-HBsAg is likely a result of your past immunization. Do you have information on other hepatitis B levels (e.g. HepB DNA, anti-Hbc). There are other potential causes for elevated liver enzymes, so you should also be checked for other viral infections, autoimmune hepatitis, and HIV. An ultrasound of your liver would also help in the diagnosis.

Best wishes.
