Question : I got high ESR and high cholesterol. I'm confused whether to go to physician or a rheumatologist. Can you give advice in this regard?
Brief Answer:
Better to consult a physician.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
ESR is a non specific investigation and can be increased in any kind of infection be it a minor viral infection. If you don’t have arthritis related symptoms like Joint pain or rashes no need to consult a rheumatologist.
If your cholesterol is very much above the normal range diet control and in special circumstances medical therapy may be required.
I suggest you to consult a physician for further assessment.
Thanks
