Question : I got married recently. Since I am 40 years, I was advised to do an advanced semen analysis and DNA fragmentation test done. Attached are the results. Please have a look and let me know whether the results are normal and any advise.

DFI is normal

Hi,

I saw your semen analysis report.

DFI upto 30 percent is normal. 16.9 in your case is fine. No treatment is required.

Sperm motility is slightly lower. However this is difficult to treat using medicines. Try for a year to conceive normally. If there is no pregnancy after attempting for a year, You might need treatment like IUI to conceive.

If pregnancy happens, are there chances of abnormal sperms causing the pregnancy resulting in issues with the child?

Also I was told that the tests are also to find out if there are chances of miscarriages...Is there something like that in the report?

If there is pregnancy, there will be absolutely no problem with the baby. Dont worry.

There are no predictive factors for miscarriage in this report.
