Question : I had a creatanine level of 1.35 last friday after being between .89 and 1.1 for years with 3 test results in the normal range in the past year, one at .90 1 month ago. My efgr was 56 and I'm concerned about my kidneys. The test was performed before a mri with gadavastan contrast. I've had HBP(controlled) for 37 years. Should I be concerned?

                                    My results dating back to 3/20/18 are .97, 1.34, 1.00, 1.04, .92, .97(10/18/18), .89(2/6/18), and 1.35 (3/1/19) Thanks again!

                                    Brief Answer:
Slightly abnormal
Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,
I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns...
Please note, your creatinine level is slightly higher than normal and your eGFR is slightly lower than normal...
However, these borderline abnormal results can be reversed by keeping yourself hydrated adequately by at least eight-ten cups of water per day...You should also cut down your protein intake and increase your fiber content of diet...Do also avoid vigorous exercise to avoid renal exhaustion...
I hope you find this helpful...
Let me know if I can assist you further...
Regards
