Question : I had a mesh repair of an unguinal hernia seventeen years ago. I have had no pain or complications from this, but have recently read of some bad possible complications. Should I be worried?
Brief Answer:
No need to be worried
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
I am not sure which complications have you read or heard of, but most complications occur within a few years after surgery and may include chronic pain, recurrence, infection.
After so many years, I don't think that some medical issues may be related to MESH since it becomes incorporated into the body and causes no permanent problems.
So there is no need to be worried.
Wish you good health.
Regards
