Question : I had a tooth implant and it became infected or was infected when the implant was put into place. They acted as though I was a hypochondriac and ignored me until I hit the ER and was diagnosed with facial cellulitis. I have had four surgeries on my mouth trying to get all of the infection out and on 5 different antibiotics and still have numbness in my face. How do I tell if the cellulitis is still growing?

Hi First of all thank you for approaching us for your query. I read through your query. I suggest you that cellulitis might have reduced. The numbness can be due to different surgeries that you had undergone to remove infection. Also the amount of medicines you were put on can cause numbness to certain extent. So I suggest you to wait for a week and see for the result then reach a conclusion that cellulitis is still present or is it still growing or is it reduced. I feel it will be in regressing stage(reducing).So nothing to get worried. Stay calm and cool. If still after a week pain , hotness , redness(these are symptoms of cellulitis or inflammation) is felt on the face then we can tell cellulitis is present or not.Drink lots of water.Have lots of fruits and vegetables.
