Question : I had an ischemic stroke predicated with a left VAD on 3/3/19. There have been no lasting effects except some moderate headaches. What is the danger of smoking small amounts of marijuana now 10 weeks later? (I do not drink anymore, I do not smoke, I have lowered my BP, I am taking BP meds, a strong statin and Eliquis. I also have lost almost 30#. My diet has improved immensely.

I would not recommend to smoke marijuana after a stroke.

There are many studies on the benefits of cannabinoids after stroke.

It is found that they can lessen the impact of stroke on the brain.

There are other studies that confirm that stroke probability is higher in marijuana users.

Smoking marijuana is also related to recurrent stroke.

So, I would not recommend to put yourself under a risk.
