Question : Hi doc. I had miscarried last July 23 and i bled and passed large blood clots. Last Juky 30 i went back for my follow up check up. they did an ultrasound and blood test. As per the obgyne she said everything is clear but yhey just want to mw to pass some hanging tissues in my uterus and to bleed more so they prescribed misoprostol. 4 tablets for 2 nights. I took my first dose yesterday 2 200mcg in each cheeks after i only had a little bleeding and passed just a little clot. and then after its gone. what does that mean doc?the misoprostol did not work or I only have a little retained product of conception in my uterus? i am just worried as it may cause some complications. thank you very much.
Brief Answer:
Suggests minimal retained products in uterus.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have gone through your query and understand your health concerns Misoprostol can cause uterine cramps and bleeding even after 24 hours. You need to take the tablets for two days as prescribed. The passage of small clot means there are minimal retained products in the uterus. Only an ultrasound scan can confirm if all the products have been expelled or not. You can get a repeat ultrasound scan done after one week to be very sure.
