Cough, tract inflammation resolves later than the disappearance of symptoms
Detailed Answer:
Hi...
Welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service.
I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX
I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.
First of all,I congratulate you for your win in fight against suspected COVID pneumonia.
Good to know that you are doing well.
You are quite concerned about your cough and throat ache but it is unlikely to be a serious problem.
Cough and inflammation of throat and respiratory tract takes a bit longer to disappear.
The throat inflammation, irritation, local swelling and tissue reaction takes more time to heal than the disappearance of clinical symptoms.
This becomes more slow in the background of a comorbidity-Asthma,which you are having.
You may continue an antihistaminic like levocetrizine 5mg at night time to hasten the recovery or take some cough suppressants or throat lozenges.
Continue hot saline gargles and steam inhalation.
Do breathing exercises.
Take commercially available Omega 3 Supplements.
As far as you having a possibility of cancer is concerned,it is also remote.
You are a patient of Asthma and just a month back, had COVID like illness( with predominant pneumonia),your throat and respiratory tract must have been extensively evaluated during your management.
Please don't be over stressed about it.
You can also share your Investigation reports and treatment records and I will guide you further,to restore your peace of mind.
Hope that I have answered your query.
Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards.

Cough resolves much later than the clinical symptoms
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.
The pain in your chest might be due to repeated cough and resultant local muscular fatigue.
You can take Paracetamol 500mg for the pain relief.
Your symptoms do not look like a reactivated or relapsed COVID.
A symptomatic patient usually have high grade fever, breathlessness, muscle aches, fatigue and diarrhoea in addition to cough.
Much of the clinical data is not available but preliminary studies have indicated that the corona infection produces a short term immunity against It,though more studies are needed to validate this.
As you are an asthmatic,so there is an obstruction in air outflow and hyperaeration and hypersecretion.
In my opinion,at the most, you might have an exacerbation of asthmatic bronchitis or a minor superadded infection.
If the symptoms do not improve, please visit your clinician for complete evaluation and physical examination.
Happy living.
Best regards.
