Question : I had unprotected sex three months ago, two days later I started experiencing burning on my private parts and also having headache. I thought it's normal, I changed my diet to eating healthy, still it wasn't gone. I first took a blood test a month later, without telling my Doctor about the burning only about the headache. It came back negative. After three months overall, the burning, nor the headache was gone, and also I had groin swelling. I went back to the hospital and told them everything I was experiencing and the did Std testing. I was given antibiotics and some injections for the groin pain. whiles I waited for my results. The results came back negative again. I asked my Doctor why the headache and mild burning he said I've no idea, give it time and eat healthy, drink alot of water. For the past three weeks I've been having Whiteness on my tongue and mild headache everyday. What it is then??

Brief Answer:
It could be anemia or candida

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

From your description, you donot seem to have a sexually transmitted infection. It seems to be iron deficiency anemia or candida.

You can get tested for anemia.

Candida can happen due to stress.

If you can send a photo of the white coated tongue, I will be better able to help you.

Brief Answer:
This seems candida

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

I have seen the images. This is most probably candida and is a result of stress/unnecessary antibiotics. My suggestions are as follows:

- Avoid risk factors like use of antibiotics, steroidal inhalers.
- Try some probiotics
- Avoid getting stressed or do some deep breathing when stressed. Can learn alternate nostril breathing from youtube.
- Nystatin ointment can be applied. Will need a prescription for this.
- Avoid sugary foods and juices. Drink cleaner water with low TDS.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
Candida albicans

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,

Candida may not go away completely as its part of normal flora. Since it has overgrown, it may become less with lifestyle measures.
You can still live a healthy life with it.
