Question : I have Hashimoto's and originally my antibodies were at 900 but with the help of NP thyroid they have fallen to 256. Recently my doctor had increase my mp and while my antibodies fell my T4 also fell. When I saw her last time she increase my dosage again and now I feel sluggish and my knees ache badly. I'm concerned this is caused by the MP but she wants me to wait 2 months to be retested
Brief Answer:
About Hashimoto thyroiditis;
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through your concern.
The titer of the antibodies in Hashimoto thyroiditis can vary during the life and is not in correlation with thyroid hormones.
Of course, there is a tendency for more severe hypothyroidism with the passing of the years.
I do agree with your physician, all you can do in these moments is to increase the dose of levothyroxine and try to see an orthopedic for the ache of the knees as it is not due to Hashimoto.
After six weeks or 2 months you may check the thyroid hormones again.
Hope the information will help.
Best wishes,
