I Have A Bizarre Rash On My Side Spreading To

Possible causes and treatment explained below
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service,
The rash you are experiencing can be caused by several conditions. This is not hives, but allergy can still cause a similar rash as well, especially if it is itchy. Local reaction and viral infection can be other possible causes.
Knowing for how long you have this rash is helpful in diagnosis.
Also, what makes it better or worse, if it causes any discomfort, if you have other symptoms such as fever, joint pain, etc.
Do others around you experience similar rash and have you used any drugs?
I would recommend you to take some benadryl every 6 hours (be cautious if you drive as this can make you drowsy, Loratadine at night is used in this case, it is not as effective as benadryl though). You can also apply a mild steroid cream such as hydrocortisone twice a day. Try to avoid anything that makes the rash worse. These would help with allergy and local reaction.
If you notice no improvement in 3-4 days or you notice any worsening you will need to see your doctor.
I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. I remain at your disposal, let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
