Question : I have a cold but not horrible, however, eyes have become swollen incredibly and leaking a lot. Everyone gets a little eye leakage when sick - not like this.

How long before I will get a response?
Looking to go to ER.

                                    Brief Answer:
This looks allergic pr could be viral also
Detailed Answer:
hey dear thanks for your question. This looks like allergy but there is a chance of it being viral conjunctivitis or eye flu also . You should get your eyes examined by an ophthalmologist for the same . If there is a lot of morning stickiness and discharge it goes more in favour of viral conjunctivitis . I would advise you to use a steroid and antibiotic combination eye drop three times a day for five days and it should go away . Hope my answer helps you . If you have any follow up query I would help you with the same . Regards

Is viral form of conjunctivitis highly contagious? If so, how long before I'm not contagious? I also have a cold in combination.
I went to urgent care and got medication.

Yea dear it is contagious
Detailed Answer:
hey thanks for the follow up . Yes dear it is contagious from the onset itself. But with the start of medication and keeping separate towels and proper eye hygeine it will not spread . If you have started medication then 80 % patients get okay in five days . Hope my answer helps you. Regards
