Question : I have a lower pole cyst with thin septation on my right kidney that measures 4.2 cm.

Does the radiology report say cyst? The idea with the extra scan is to make sure that it isn't malignant. Do you have any pain, weight loss, anemia?

The radiology report says cyst. I have no weight loss. No pain. No blood in urine and no anemia. I was concerned about the size of the cyst , the paper work for the scan says renal mass. and what percentage of these are malignant. I have a follow up with the urologist next week and the scan is tomorrow.

It is difficult to say what the risk of malignancy is. The radiologists typically use a so-called Bosniak classification. Does the report say anything about that?
