Question : I have a lump under my eyebrow; I've been using 400mg ibuprofen every four hours, swabbing with TCP and using hot compresses. The lump is hard under the skin, no squeezing yields a result. There is a dip that's open at the top and after the last hot compress the skin has peeled off over a large section, but didn't bleed or ooze pus.

                                    Brief Answer:

Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I see the photo you attached and it looks like infected bump possibly folliculitis.
It is good idea you uses ibuprofen for pain and to reduce inflammation but it is not enough to cure it.
You may need to use antibiotics ointment.
You can use either gentamicine and bethametazon ointment or tetracycline ointment.
You can find them otc in pharmacy.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
