I Have A Moderate Outbreak Of Genital Warts . The

I%E2%80%99ve been prescribed Aldara in the past. The treatment was evidently unsuccessful, as six months later, I still have an increasing number of lesions.
The largest lesions are near my pubis bone, closest to the top side of my penis. They are visible when I shave the pubic hair. The smallest lesions are on the penile shaft.
I will be going to the dermatologist next month for a routine visit, and I intend to bring this up.
1) What treatment regimen would you recommend given the fact that the Aldara did not work? Are cryotherapy and electrocauterization options given the size of the smallest lesions?
2) What can I do between now and December to stop further spread around my pubic region?
3) Does having a moister or drier pubic region affect spread? Would powdering myself have any protective or harmful effect?

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I would suggest either Electrocautery or Electrofulguration as one of the preferred options for genital warts of various sizes - from just an mm across to 0.5 or even 1 cm in size.
Cryotherapy is another good option for genital warts of varying sizes. It may require 2-4 sitting though.
In order to prevent further spread, you should avoid manipulating warts and avoid shaving in that area.
Wait for your doctor's visit. Till then wash the area clean with soap and water, daily and change your undergarments, daily. Moisturizing or powdering won't benefit. Moisturizing may encourage spread.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance.
