I Have A Painful And Tender Spot Right Under My

Question: I have a painful and tender spot right under my jaw on the right side. It doesn’t appear swollen at least not that I notice. I think it may be my gland. No fever, no shakes, just a little stuffed nose that I thought was allergies. Should I get this looked at? I’m worried about cancer....
Brief Answer:
It can be a swollen lymph node.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Most probably it will be an inflamed lymph node, secondary due to some infection like decayed tooth ot pharyngitis.
It is not a sign of any cancer.
You can wait for two days for spontaneous recovery. Have a look in to your oral cavity for any decayed tooth.
If symptoms persists a short course of antibiotics may be started empirically after consulting a general practitioner.
Thanks
