Question : I have a peeling rash on my heel and on the side of the foot an lower ankle. It's quite sore and is not improving following a week long treatment of itraconazole 100mg ending 8/29. I continue to use anti fungal cream which give some comfort but no improvment.

Eczema is possible.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I think it can be eczema or atopic dermatitis. It can be mistaken for fungal infection but taking count that antifungals are not working most probably it can be eczema.
Try to avoid nylon socks and wear only cotton ones. Try to avoid substances that you think can make it worse. Wash with unscented, gentle soap and dry it well them use moisturising lotions.
You can also use corticosteroid creams found otc or stronger ones by prescription like hydrocortisone cream.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
