                                            VIRAL PHARYNGITIS
Detailed Answer:
Hi....
Welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service.
I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX
I have gone through your query/pic and here is my opinion.
It is a sore and inflammed throat indicative of pharyngitis, very likely viral.
It should progressively improve and you should be normal after 7 to 8 days of the illness.
There is no immediate treatment to cure a viral infection (just like antibiotics for bacterial infections) but you can control the symptoms by taking a few measures.
1.Warm saline gargles will reduce the local signs of inflammation.
2.Use of throat lozenges will decrease local pain.
3.Keep yourself well hydrated and specially have hot fluids and soups.
4.Have soft diet to prevent trouble swelling.
5.Use a humidifier to relieve congestion.
6.Over the counter(OTC) Non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like Advil and Tylenol, will help in throat discomfort.
7.Take antihistamines like Levocetrizine 5mg at night time.
8.Take rest to help recovery.
9.Maintain hand hygiene and asepsis.
If the symptoms do not improve, visit your clinician who will go for Rapid Step Test and local Cultures to evaluate the need of an antibiotic (if there is a super added bacterial infection specially streptococcus).
Snoring is rattling sound produced during breathing when the person is asleep, due to an obstructed airway thus preventing free movement of air.
Due to backward fall of tongue, there is vibration of the soft palate and other soft tissues in the mouth, nose or throat whenever there is movement of air.
Snoring would not interfere with the healing of your sore throat.
Hope that I have answered your query.
If you have any doubts, please let me know.
Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards.
