Brief Answer:
possible home remedies which may help to dislodge the nut piece.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* As per my surgical experience, the piece of nut stuck in throat may cause
variety of symptoms and complications and hence need precise careful
management.

* First of all make sure that you have no difficulty in breathing, severe
chocking sensation in throat with pain and distress ; if anything is present,
strictly visit to an ER is recommended.

* If you are comfortable at present, can swallow liquids easily without
discomfort, then wait for couple of hours and do extra home remedies.

Following measures do work in certain cases to make the piece of nut loose to some extent and better position to get it down to stomach.

@ Baking soda - half teaspoonful mixed in a glass of drinking water ,
consumed slowly within 5 minutes period.
Same way Effervescent drug XXXXXXX Seltzer when mixed with a liquid,
produce bubbles upon dissolution, which may help dislodge the nut down
by pressure created.

@ Teaspoonful of honey may also help by soothing the irritated area
surrounding the nut and raise the possibility of getting it down.

@ White bread - a small piece of white bread, chewed very thoroughly and
then swallowed, can help to take nut piece down with it.

* There are some advises about the violent and forceful coughing, but I do
not advise on clinical grounds as that are high chances of aspiration it into
trachea.

It is recommended to wait for maximum 12 to 18 hours after the event onset, and later get help of expert ENT specialist to get it removed by an endoscopy procedure.

Do feel free to discuss further at any point of time regarding the same.
Wish you best recovery and health.

Regards.
