he has IBS n chronic constipation issues

Right sir my father is 70 yrs old and has IBS and chronic constipation issues since long and was using laxatives like sodium picosulphate cremafin etc...now due to some psychotic medication he is also using olanzapine 5 and amusulpride 100 once a day...bp generally drops but constipation issue remains.. lifestyle is sedandtry and his weight is approx 90 kg and height 6 feet...pls suggest how to resolve constipation issues

Thank you for follow up,
Severe constipation is side effect of medicines he is on.
Only thing that can be done is to increase the doses of cremaffin plus to 45ml.
Even if it does not help then P.c enema could be taken after every 2-3days to evacuate the bowel.
Give him a lots of isabhghul husk 30 mg per day.
What doses of cremaffin.is he using?

Right sir cremafin he is not using frequently but mainly using sodium picosulphate 10 mg tablet almost every alternate day and it works too most of the time along with that he sometimes have one table spoon of cremafin...

Isabgol husk doesn't work for him as he tried it lot of times we also avoid to use much of laxatives...can some diet modification be made for resolving this issue...

Hi there,
Sorry Amandeep diet modification would help only in conjugation with laxatives(Diet high in fibers relieves constipation;Isabghul itself is 100% fiber,When its not helping how would diet help.
His constipation is a side effect of antipyscotic medications...Why are you avoiding laxatives?
Any specific reason because long term constipation could cause serious problems like hemorrhoids fissure etc.
