Question : I have a rash at the base of my penis, I thought it was an allergic reaction to soap I was using so I switched to a less scented soap. I am not currently sexually active with a partner but I do masturbate occasionally. I will wake up some mornings with blood on my underwear. This scares me, is this some sort of cancer maybe?
Brief Answer:
Kindly upload images
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have reviewed your query.
I request you to kindly upload a few images of the affected area in " reports section " so that I am able to have a look and guide you accordingly.
Do you have any associated symptoms like itching? pain? etc
Hope to assist you further once I get the images.

I meant to say the rash is at the base of my scrotum. I had a colonoscopy a year and a half ago and have mild diverticulitis. I thought maybe a sac had ruptured and the area around my scrotum is red and itches. Is that more of a help? I'm not very good with cameras so I was having trouble uploading images.
Brief Answer:
Use a topical steroid cream and an oral antihistamine
Detailed Answer:
Thank you.
Perhaps it is a eczematous dermatitis on scrotum.
Unlikely to be cancer. I suggest you to try an otc topical steroid e.g triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% Or 1% hydrocortisone(Cortisone cream), if you cant find triamcinolone acetonide cream. Use twice daily for a few days. In addition you may take an oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10mg tablet once a day for a few days.
take care
