I Have A Roughness Where My Cervix Meets My Vagina.

Question: I have a roughness where my cervix meets my vagina. I've googled it and it might be the area called the fornix. I'm concerned that this is something abnormal I'm concerned that this could be a growth of some sort, it seems to have gotten worse through the last few years. Maybe it's a mild case of endometriosis. I've asked gynocologists throughout the years but they either didn't feel anything or think that I couldn't reach. I've never stood up for myself. I feel like they don't palpitate, or "explore" the vagina during the annual exam and during my pregnancies there focus is on the cervix. I would like to know if this is normal or of I should really speak up.

Brief Answer:
Ask for colposcopy

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1) Cervix is generally firm to hard structure. You may be feeling the same.

2) When the intestines ( Bowels) push the fornix from abdomen, you might be feeling it to be hard.

3) If still in doubt ask your doctor to do a per speculum examination first which I am sure they might have done it in annual check up.

4) If it is normal, ask them to do colposcopy which will rule out any signs of cancer. This should do away with the fear you have.

Let me know if you need anymore help.

Regards
