Question : I have a round patch of dry and itchy skin between my ankle bone and heal in my right leg about the size of a 2 rupee coin. I had consulted my physician who told me it is eczema and suggested a Urea and Salicylic Acid based cream and a tablet for 2 weeks. Though there was some respite when medication is used, the issue still persists. I would like to know if there is better treatment for this issue.

Eczema is a possible causes. However other skin conditions also be ruled out.
Is there any redness or pain associated with lesion? Did you notice dilated veins over the leg?

Hello Doctor. I have attached pictures as per your advice.

The skin becomes dry and white spots appear which are itchy. When scratched, scales of dry skin fall off and if scratched hard it causes redness and pain sometimes. I have some varicose veins in my legs which is hereditary but these are not very prominent.

Hello,
It seems like an eczema. Certain footwear can cause these condition.
As a first line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams like betamethasone for symptomatic relief. If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.
