Question : I have a stress fracture of my left calcaneus since late April from playing tennis. Have been wearing a boot but still not healed. Doctor is recommending subchondroplasty. What is the success rate of this procedure? Is there another treatment?

A fracture that has not healed since April is a non healing fracture and needs a surgical fixation. Subchondroplasty will help in the proper healing. This will act like a bone cement and is specially helpful in healing of no healing fractures. The success rate depends on the blood supply of the bone fragments, general and bone health of the patient. This is the best option for you right now.
