Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!
I understand your concern and would explain that these blood pressure fluctuations are quite normal due to the stresful situation that you are going through.
But if your diastolic blood pressure values are persistently high ( above 100mm Hg), I would recommend increasing the doses of your anti hypertensive drugs.
Regarding your shortness of breath, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some tests:
- complete blood count for anemia
- a resting ECG and cardiac ultrasound in order to examine your heart function and structure
- a chest X ray study and pulmonary function tests
- fasting glucose
- blood electrolytes.
An exercise cardiac stress test may be necessary to exclude possible coronary artery disease.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Kind regards,
Dr.Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
