Question : I have an infected cut on my finger. I have been on an antibiotic since Thursday and using a prescription anti biotic ointment on it since Thursday. However no improvement. Still the same. Its small in size just above the nail.

Hi and welcome.

Well, Bactrim is not some best option for it, amoxicillin would be better. But if there is no improvement, I think that it should be surgically drained under local anesthesia by incision especially if there is pus accumulation around the nail. Also, apply ice packs, rest with finger and continue with ointment. Also you can soak finger in hot salty water.
