Question : I quit birth control pills in 2019 March and noticed hair shedding after that. March 2020 I experienced a traumatic event and my hair thinned after that. I can notice the thinning mostly on my sides and parting. I have noticed growth on my sides after eating vitamins such as iron. I went to the doctor, and he barely looked at my hair and said that I have to wait for my hair to grow. I'm scared that I suffer from androgenetic alopecia. My hair shedding has stopped but I still shed some long and short hairs and I read that in androgenetic alopecia I might have seasons when my hair doesn't shed. Is it possible that I have androgenetic alopecia but my hair still grows longer and I have noticed massive growth on my temples? I'm a 19 year old girl and I have no family history of hair loss.

Hi,
Yes it is possible to have widening part without androgenic alopecia.
There are several reasons for hair fall, like infections, nutrition deficiency, skin diseases etc.
Hence I suggest you to consult dermatologist.
