Question : I have androgenic alopecia. I took finastaride 1mg for a year. Now I have recently stopped it. I am getting greasy white thing from my scalp. Also I am facing little itching on my scalp. Need some suggestions to improve my hair.

Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and noted your concern.

You seem to have seborrheic dermatitis which presents as itching and greasy white scaling of the scalp. I suggest you to use a 2% ketoconazole based shampoo e.g either Nizral shampoo or Scalpe shampoo. Use it daily or every alternate days. Large it well on the wet scalp and allow it to act for 3-5 minutes before rinsing it off.
