Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I read your query and understand your concerns.

First of all I like to inform you that based on the details provided there is possibility that you are suffering with anxiety disorder. It is important to note that anxiety disorder is treatable disorder and most patients respond well to either medication or psychotherapy. In my opinion psychotherapy should be tried first as it does not have any form of side effects.

In case no psychotherapist is available medication can be considered.
For the likes of problem narrated in question SSRI group of medication is first line of treatment. The examples include escitalopram, Paroxetine, fluoxetine, sertraline among others. For a 50 year young individual i often prefer escitalopram or sertraline over the other available options.

Since these medications are prescription only medications you need to visit a doctor to get a prescription.

I hope this helps you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.

I understand what you are talking about but what you dont know is I have tried all of these anti-depressants and they have not worked for me and some of them made my systems worse. A few years ago I seen a doctor that prescribed xanax on one condition that I can only be on them for two months and than I have to come down from them on the last month. I could not believe how much better my anxiety, nervousness and stress reduced and for once I fest like myself. At the end of t\he second month I came down to .5 mg for the first week then 0,125 for the remainder of the time. I understand how people abuse these drugs but I am not one of them. What the bottle says I follow to a T and my only concern to to get better while I am going through such a terrible ordeal and it would be nice if I could get you to prescribe arleast 1mg per day and you can do pill counts all you want. Thank you, Cleve Hall

Detailed Answer:
Dear Cleve Hall,
Thanks for follow up and detailing me about the real experience.

I completely understand that different people respond differently and there is no XXXXXXX in this regard. Even I do not have any prejudice against use of benzodiazepines but I feel we need to have open mind before attempting use of any antidepressant. If I say that I tried all and none of them works for me is exaggerated statement and not true for most individuals. However being receptive to any recommended option is the right strategy and should be adopted as far as possible.

In case some of antidepressants not worked for you this is time to go for novel anti-depressants before adopting xanax and similar medications.

I hope this helps you further.\
Thanks again.
