Question : I have been coughing since October and have had a strong sore throat for the past 3 wks. Have been taking Musunex cough 12 hr release for the past 2 wks. Have coughed so much I believe it has effected my rib area. Have had to see the chiropractor 5 times in the last 1.5 wks for that. I am tired of coughing and the sore throat. Have had no fever. Went to doctor 3 wks ago . She said its a virus and hangs on. She gave me doxycycline for 10 days. Still have seen no relief.

Hii.

Please consult and ENT surgeon and Pulmonologist. Have a throat swab given and sent for culture and sensitivity and for AFB smear. Do chest X ray and X ray paranasal sinus. and pulmonary function test if possible.

Start taking betadine gargle,steam inhalation,fluticasone nasal spray. Don't take too much cough suppressant. Also take omeprazole tablet before food.

Review with the report. Its looking like you are suffering from allergic pharyngitis but still need to rule out other diseases.
