Question : I have been feeling a sensation of pressure/gas in my anal area for close to 2 months. I am extremely gassy and often feel constipated at night. I can feel hardness around my anal opening, like a ring when I press around the opening. I am extremely aware of my anal sphincter. It doesn’t hurt just very noticeable and very uncomfortable. I don’t think it is hemorrhoids because it’s been so long and I’m not experiencing symptoms characterized by hemorrhoids.

Very likely you are having Inflammation in your ano rectal canal.
This condition is called Proctitis. Some condition causing it are Infection, sexually transmitted infections (STIs),inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis.
Initially I would suggest you to go for following tests-
Complete blood count to rule out infection.
Stool test
Fecal calprotectin -Screening test for any inflamatory condition of intestines and ano rectal canal.
Follow up with reports.
