Question : I have been having intermittent bouts of coughing then vomiting after eating. I have also had pain at the top of the stomach after swallowing. This has been going on for about three months. Now I had my first UTI confirmed with urine test at urgent care (hi blood and white blood cell count). However it ended up being what I believe was a kidney stone due to later severe flank pain and feeling as if I were in labor for about 5 hours. After that, the pain subsided but I have been very sore and fatigued (this is day three afterward). How do you know you passed a kidney stone? And are these two issues related?

                                    Brief Answer:
Ultrasound Abdomen will give the status
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Pain Abdomen followed by Vomiting can be due to Kidney stone. If it is in upper abdomen in the middle portion,it could be Acid peptic disease.I prescribe Rabeprazole along with Domperidone to my patients with similar complaints.
Regarding kidney stone, some people see the stone passing in Urine.Or Ultrasound abdomen will confirm the status of the stone like Size, Location etc.
Please consult a Urologist and proceed further.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions,I will clarify further.
Wish you good health
Regards
