Hii. Welcome to the healthcare service.
Allergic cough can persist for more than 2 week. Are you having anty breathing difficulty, change in voice, difficulty in swallowing?. You can do a chest x ray to see the exact picture of your lung. Give a throat swab for culture and sentivity to rule out any bacterial infection in the throat. Give a throat swab also for AFB smear and culture to rule out if you are having any tuberculosis infection. It's the protocol that person having more than 2 week cough should rule out these infection and give throat swab for culture and sentivity. Start a betadine gargle to reduce throat infection. After giving throat swab, start tab augmentin for 1 week. Take bromhexine tablet to reduce the cough and it will also act as a mucolytic to reduce any chest congestion. Take steam inhalation. Drink more liquids preferably warm. Do a routine blood test and review with the reports. If there is no bacterial infection in the report then it can be allergic on nature due to smoke, dust, viral inflammation. You follow the above remedies and lead a healthy life. Avoid smoking, alcohol, spicy food, beverages. Drink more water. Please review if you have any queries.
