Detailed Answer:
Hii. Welcome to the Ask A Doctor service.
There are many causes of tinnitus with vertigo. It can be due to otosclerosis as it can affect in both the ears. Otosclerosis present with tinnitus with hearing and vertigo. It can be due to weakness of hearing nerve due to age,use of ototoxic drug, exposure to loud sound, long time talking over the phone. It can be Meniers disease also where there is abnormal swelling of the inner ear structures which present ear fullness, tinnitus and giddiness. So you can consult an ent surgeon and do a hearing test, impedance audiogram, Electrocochleography (EchoG) and if needed Electronystagmography (ENG). If there is any abnormality it can be treated accordingly. For now you can take tablet Vertin 24 mg od for 1 week. Ignore the tinnitus. Don't stay in silent area. Take vitamin supplement. Avoid excessive tea, coffee, salt. Avoid smoking, alcohol. Do vestibular rehabilitation exercise while at home.
Please review if you have any queries.

The hearing loss and rumbling sound vary day to day. The "almost-dead-ear", can inject a lot of noise to my general hearing with low-frequency sounds. The "not-that-bad" ear, changes every day. Some days are very bad, can't hear a thing and a lot of rumbling. Others I can hear better, less or no rumbling.
I just wanted to confirm the use of Vertin, after providing this information? Are there any other suggestions/changes?

Detailed Answer:
Hii. There can be some eustachian tube dysfunction in your case. So take steam inhalation. Use nasoclear nose drop 3 drops thrice daily. Take fluticasone spray 2 puff at bedtime if you are having nasal congestion. Take some vitamin B12 supplement. Do a hearing test. Do the others tests also and review with report. For now ignore the sound because most of the times tinnitus has no definitive cause. More you ignore the sound more the sound gets decreased. You can take Vertin if you have any acute episode of vertigo. Don't drive. It's looking like you are having either sensorineural problem or otosclerosis or Meniers. Exact diagnosis is needed. You may need a hearing aid for future rehabilitation.
