I Have Been Taking Lyrica 150 Mg A Day, Now

Question: I have been taking Lyrica 150 mg a day, now increased on doctor advice for last 3 weeks to 200 mg a day - half in the morning, half in the evening
to control pain from intercostal neuralgia flowing through my upper back, often to the front. But recently even
200 mgs a day isn't enough to manage the pain, and I have added 1 or 2 500 mg tables of acetaminophen.

Can you suggest anything to me regarding this matter - other medicines, or tests I might benefit from?

I read your query and here is my advice.

Despite Lyrica you can use other drugs such ibuprofen or naproxen for pain .
They can be used for pain better than acetaminophen.
You can use ibuprofen or naproxen twice daily.

Thank you Dr Olgeta for your answer on handling inter-costal pain.
You advise I can supplement the Lyrica with ibuprofen or naproxen but do not recommend dosage per day - please what would you advise, being conservative because I don.t like to over-medicate....

You can take them twice daily.

You can take naproxen twice daily having half a tablet of 500mg or ibuprofen 400 mg twice daily for the intercostal pain.
Don't take them if you don't feel pain.
Both ibuprofen and naproxen can be taken with Lyrica and don't cause interactions.
