Question: I have been to the emergency room 2 times in the last week for Constipation. Back Pain. Abdominal Bloating. And flat stool. They gave me an enema and had to take Magnesium Citrate. After 2 days I was still Bloated, crampy, and had back pain. Went back to DR and they did bloodwork and CT Scan. Everything came back negative. No stool impaction or any other problems. They sent me home and I am having the same issues. Constipation, bloated, back pain, and flat stool. Any ideas what this may be?

Brief Answer:
Slow bowel muscle contractions, slow intestinal transit possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

It is quite a good news that all blood tests and CT scan come out normal. This excludes the possibility of tumours or mechanical blockage.
I think the problem may be related to slow bowel movement or low colon muscle contractions when bowel muscles are not able to move stools out of body fast
You do a colorectal study when you swallow a capsule seen on x-ray to see how fast it moves through colon.
You may need to increase fiber I take and water intake .

Hope I have answered the question.
