Question : I have birth control implant insert 3 days ago. However, I have a sharp pain at 1 exact spot, really really painful like a big needle is pinching at that same spot whenever I touch that sport! And I still can feel the paint is there all the time... whats wrong with it? Will it get better or I should go back to see my doctor? And if she takes it out... would she replace another one im the same spot or different spot?
Brief Answer:
It will go away soon.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
Having mild pain or pinching pain in the place where the implant is inserted is normal.
You will feel the pain for some days and it will get better soon. The bruising and swelling may last for one or two weeks and it will get better.
You can take Acetaminophen for pain if you feel the pain is too much.
There is no need to see a doctor or nurse immediately because it should get better soon.
Hope I have answered the question.
