Question : I have bumps all over my body that itch like hell. This originally started in my groin with a ring looking patch and has spread down my thighs. Doctors say it’s an allergic reaction but I’ve read a lot about jock itch and I think my picture portrays that. I can show you the picture
Brief Answer:
Pityriasis rosea, topical steroid, antihistaminic
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor service
I have gone through your query and reviewed the attached photographs.
These are looking like pityriasis rosea which is an allergic reaction to a viral infection.
Pityriasis rosea is a self limiting reaction which takes around 6-8 weeks to resolve.
It is not looking like fungal infection.
I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like cortisone cream on the affected area twice daily and take antihistaminic like tablet cetrizine 10 mg twice daily for 3 weeks.
This will help in resolving the problem.

Thank you. My doctor has only prescribed presnisone, cypro antibiotic, hydroxyzine, And mometasone cream. Are these ok based on your diagnosis and should I add the cortisoid cream too?

Last question do you think this is related to covid 19 the virus? I read about some cases with this same diagnosis. Maybe get tested for cautionary purposes?
Brief Answer:
Welcome
Detailed Answer:
These medicines are fine.
You can apply mometasone cream mixed in a moisturizing lotion in the ratio of 1:3 on the affected skin twice daily.
No need to apply cortisone cream.
I don’t think it is a common skin manifestation of covid.
As a precautionary measure you can get tested for covid.
